The whole process took 9 days from drop-off to pick-up.
I removed most of my custom wiring. Wind wing/Directional lights, Baker Wind wings, Heated gloves temperature controller.
Several smaller plastic panels, Highway pegs and stored them in my garage.
The only word of caution is if you have to have the welding done and you have a full tank of gas, Use it up first.
I brought the bike in with over 3/4's of a tank and I only had about a half gallon when I picked the bike up from the dealer.
They have to remove it to do the welding.

Update 4/20/05
I took my first real ride after the welding last week. Guess What?   No Audio!!
I got home and removed the top cover and sure enough the audio unit connectors were left off.
I re-connected them and back in business again. Took me 3 hours that afternoon to dismantle and reassemble  everything.
I called service manager and told him what I found. He said he would caution the mechanic who worked on the bike. Then he offered me a free oil & filter change.
I think he was genuinely concerned about the mistake and at least tried to make some amends.
